President's Message

Welcome to the Pikes Peak IMA and Start of Another Year!

Our Chapter has a long tradition of serving the needs of our members and is committed to continuing that tradition of advancing the Accounting & Finance Profession by supporting members who have and are pursuing professional certification, by offering educational opportunities to earn CPE credit, through a network of IMA professionals, and by encouraging active involvement in the IMA.  We serve as a positive force when our service to businesses, governmental and civic organizations is performed in competent and ethical ways.

Our website is a portal through which you can find links to the websites of IMA Global, our local supporters and upcoming events.  This year, IMA Global will support local chapters by standardizing the look of each chapter’s website.  Our new website will include a myriad of resources that are available to assist us with our professional needs as well as news on important topics, meetings, and conferences.  The Pikes Peak IMA Chapter website ( will be retired in the month of September.   The new website will include quarterly newsletters with news on topics and guest speakers who will present at upcoming Chapter meetings, links to relevant articles, news and links to the IMA’s Annual Conference & Exposition, the IMA’s Annual Student Leadership Conference and the Pike Peak Chapter’s annual college student night.

I recently read and was reminded that “Voluntary association is the overarching point of organizational identity.”  Although we may not often realize it and may even take it for granted, we’re fortunate to live and work in a society that values individuals working together in organized ways to serve the needs of others.

During my term as President of the Pikes Peak Chapter, the most important message that I hope to resonate is the value of association and active participation in the very organizations that support us and make a difference in our world.  On behalf of the Pikes Peak IMA Board, I want to say “Thanks” to all of our members who serve on the Boards of IMA Global, the Rocky Mountain Council and our local chapter, along with those who offer to be guest speakers at IMA conferences and meetings, and who regularly attending those conferences and meetings.  It is the generous sharing of time, talent and resources by IMA members that make these events possible.

Our 2017-2018 program year ramps up in September.  Update your calendars to include dates of Chapter and Council Meetings and upcoming conferences.  I want to extend a special invitation to you to attend our kickoff meeting on September 19th, 2017 that will be held at Hotel Elegante.  I look forward to meeting and hearing from many of you.

In closing, join me in thanking our incoming Board of Directors for their leadership and commitment planning our upcoming year.
